Warning against concealing SARS income

JOHANNESBURG – The tax collector shows his teeth and threatens to bite.

SARS will demand explanations from taxpayers if declared income does not match bank deposits.

Since 2012, SARS has had access to taxpayer information through third-party data providers.

This includes information from banks and other financial institutions.

And with their improved systems, they can process data much more efficiently.
