NUS and NTU secure top spots in Times Asian Higher Education Universities Rankings 2024

SINGAPORE: The National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) have achieved prestigious positions in the Times Asian Higher Education Universities Rankings 2024, securing third and fourth place respectively.

In this year’s ranking, NUS maintained its third place, with an overall score of 91.2 points, reflecting its consistent performance across several metrics. Meanwhile, NTU moved up one place from last year and took fourth place, with 85.7 points. This marks a significant achievement for the institution, showing its continued growth and improvement in academic quality and research.

At the top of the rankings, China’s Tsinghua University and Peking University remained in first and second place, respectively, confirming their dominance in the region.

Tsinghua University earned a perfect score of 100 points, demonstrating its strong emphasis on research and innovation, while Peking University scored 97.3 points.

The University of Tokyo in Japan made a notable jump, rising three spots to secure fifth place in this year’s rankings. In contrast, the University of Hong Kong saw a slight drop, falling two places to sixth place.

The Times Higher Education Asian university rankings are based on a variety of indicators, including the research quality, research environment and teaching reputation of universities. These rankings are widely recognized and respected and provide a comprehensive assessment of higher education institutions across Asia.
