President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received the Shema at the Aso Villa on Thursday. The former PDP leader was accompanied to the Villa by the current Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda.

The real reason why the former government abandoned the PDP and joined APC?

According to the Minister’s Assistant, Lawyer Ibrahim Shema decided to leave the party after meeting the APC Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in August 2023.

He noted that Barr Shema supported Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 presidential election but supported APC during the gubernatorial election, giving Dr. Dikko Radda an extraordinary margin.

“The current secretary to the Katsina state government, Abdullahi Faskari, was the deputy governor of Shema,” the aide added.

Former vice president leaves PDP and joins APC

In a related development, Legit.ng reported that Barrister Ogundeji Iroju, former Deputy Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, has abandoned the PDP. Iroju left the PDP for the ruling APC.

On Tuesday, April 16, Iroju joined the APC when Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa visited Odigbo Local Government Area (LGA) as part of his tour to woo party members to vote for him in the scheduled party primaries. for Saturday, April 20.

“I am writing to formally resign from my membership in the People’s Democratic Party (PPD) effective today (March 18, 2024). My decision to resign arises from my personal conviction to re-evaluate my future political career,” he said. .
