You are making people angry with your statements – Kwesi Pratt tells Akufo-Addo

The Editor-in-Chief of Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, has criticized recent statements by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, alleging that they are stoking public anger and fomenting division.

Mr Pratt’s criticism follows comments by President Akufo-Addo made during a campaign event for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate in the Ejisu by-election.

President Akufo-Addo urged voters to support the NPP candidate, implying that only NPP Members of Parliament could effectively advocate for development in their constituencies during their term.

However, Kwesi Pratt expressed his discontent, saying: “When I was coming this morning, I listened to my friend and brother, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and I am sad because if you do that, you are making people angry. “

Continuing his statement, Pratt commented: “Nana Akufo-Addo went to Ejisu to campaign for the NPP candidate saying he would approve all the roads in the country before they could be built. What does that mean? So does that mean that in all the places where there are no good roads, he has not given his approval for them to be built? What statement!”

“On top of that,” Pratt added, “he said he is the president of the NPP, and Nana Akufo-Addo today tells us that he is the president of the NPP, so if you want development in your constituency, vote for a person from the NPP because “The member is the one who can go to the president to talk about development.

“I am sad because I thought that as president he was leading us all, but he has become president of a political party.”
