Sinn Féin will increase taxes on banks and higher earners, Pearse Doherty told London investors


Sinn Féin’s finance spokesman recently met about 50 City investors at a London hotel to discuss the party’s tax policies.

Sinn Féin will expand the size of the state and target changes for top earners and Irish banks if it is part of the next government, Pearse Doherty told investors in the City of London at a meeting last week.

The party’s finance spokesman was in the British capital on Friday last week for a meeting with around 50 global institutional investors, facilitated by stockbrokers Davy.

In an information note sent by Davy to its institutional clients, which has been seen by the business positionthe stockbroker said the party’s economic policies are closer to Tony Blair’s “New Labour” than Corbyn’s Labour.
