Kenya’s weather outlook ‘dire’ as cyclone approaches, president says

Cyclone Hidaya is expected to make landfall in Tanzania, Kenya’s southern neighbor, on Saturday, bringing with it waves nearly eight meters (26 feet) high and winds of 165 kph (100 mph), the Applications and Prediction Center said. IGAD Climate Reports.

“This cyclone, called Hidaya, which could arrive at any time, is expected to bring torrential rains, strong winds and powerful and dangerous waves,” Ruto said.
